ONE PAN APPLE CINNAMON PORK CHOPS

INGREDIENTS:

4 Ribeye (rib) pork chops (bone-in and about 3/4-inch thick)

2 apples (peeled cored and thinly sliced)

1 large white onion (halved and thinly sliced)

3 tablespoons butter, divided

2 tablespoons packed brown sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

2/3 cup apple cider

1/3 cup heavy cream

Salt and pepper

Pinch ground cayenne pepper

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Generously season the Ribeye pork chops s with salt and pepper on both sides. Set aside.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Then add the pork chops and cook about 3 minutes per sideuntil brown. Transfer to a plate and set aside. Let chops rest for few minutes.
  3. Heat the skillet to medium-high heat again and melt remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Put in the apples and onion. Cook and stir occasionally until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Season with the brown sugar, cinnamon and cayenne. Then pour in the apple cider and cream.
  4. Once the liquid mixture is stirred well, nestling the pork chops into it and cook until the internal temperature of the pork reaches between 145 degrees (medium rare), with a 3minute rest, and 160 degrees(medium), 3 minutes per side.
  5. Serve the chops with the apple mixture spooned on top.
