EASY ITALIAN SAUSAGE CHERRY TOMATOES SKILLET PIZZA

Have you heard of skillet pizza? I’m fall in love with skillet pizza nowadays. Baking a perfect skillet pizza isn’t a difficult work. And the cooking method consists of baking the pizza under a broiler in a preheated and very hot cast iron skillet. It only takes a couple of minutes for the pizza to cook and the crust to bubble up. The surface would become wonderfully charred and the whole crust would be crispy. In addition, pizza cooked by this way is very similar to a brick-oven baked one. Here I would like to share with you one of my favorite Cast iron PIZZA recipes---- easy Italy sausage cherry tomatoes skillet pizza. It is super yummy and my family really like this special Italy food and always ask me to make it. So, here is the recipe. Hope you like it.
EASY ITALIAN SAUSAGE WITH CHERRY TOMATOES PIZZA RECIPE
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 and 1/4 cups warm water
3 cups of all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic (minced)
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 fresh mozzarella ball (sliced)
Couple of spicy Italian sausages
2.5 ounce baby spinach
6 marinated artichoke hearts (quartered)
12 cherry tomatoes (halved)
5.3 ounce grated fontina cheese
Few red onion slices
Ground chili (optional, just to taste)
Prepare the dough:
In a bowl, mix the yeast, sugar and water well. Let stand 10 minutes until bubbles form on the surface.In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Then make a well in the center of mixture and pour in the yeast. Knead the dough until the surface is smooth or it must be elastic and slightly sticky. Then makeit into a ball and place in a clean, lightly oiled bowl and cover with a clean cloth. Let dough rise for at least 1-2 hours in a warm, dry place, or until it has doubled in volume.
Prepare the filling:
Put 3 tablespoons olive oil when crushing the garlic in a mortar to create a smooth fragrant liquid.
In a Cast iron skillet, cook sausages for 5 minutes in boiling water. Drain water and grill the sausage 5 minutes on high heat. Then cool it and slice into thin slices.
Add 1 teaspoon olive oil in the same pan and thenadd spinach and cook for 1 minute or until it wilts.
Prepare the pizza:
Roll out the dough by hand on a well floured surfaceand being careful not to over knead it. Then place the pizza dough on a floured chop board or a pizza board.
Place the oven rack in the top of the oven and preheat the oven to “grill / broil”. On the stove, havea cast iron skillet heated for 10 minutes and the pan must be very hot, but remember not to smoke. Spread 1 tablespoon garlic liquid on the surface of pizza crust and then add the mozzarella, sausages, spinach, artichoke hearts, cherry tomatoes, shredded cheese and onions. Drizzle a little olive oil with garlic on top of the pizza and pepper and spread some crushed chili.
Once the skillet is hot, carefully transfer the pizza with a large floured spatula into the skillet. Shake the pan a little to spread the topping, turn off heat and have the pan in the oven for 1 minute. After 1 minute, rotate skillet at 180˚ in the oven and cook for 1 minute.
Then you can check the cooking pizza, it will be grilling. Rotate at 180˚ again and cook for 1 minute, or a little longer until the pizza is well done.
Remove pizza from oven when the edge turns into a golden brown color and the smell is really good. Let cool a few minutes before removing the pizza from the skillet.Then you can slice it and enjoy!
I would like to say if you don’t have enough time to make pizza dough by yourself, you can just buy it in supermarket. Also if you really like the flavor of garlic, you can spread more garlic oil on the dough. This Italy flavor pizza is easy enough and it can be baked well less than 3 minutes if all the ingredients are prepared and accessible. In addition, I can assure you it is a quick and delicious weeknight meal that your entire family will be begging you to make over and over again!
