ONE PAN APPLE CINNAMON PORK CHOPS
INGREDIENTS:
4 Ribeye (rib) pork chops (bone-in and about 3/4-inch thick)
2 apples (peeled cored and thinly sliced)
1 large white onion (halved and thinly sliced)
3 tablespoons butter, divided
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2/3 cup apple cider
1/3 cup heavy cream
Salt and pepper
Pinch ground cayenne pepper
DIRECTIONS:
- Generously season the Ribeye pork chops s with salt and pepper on both sides. Set aside.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Then add the pork chops and cook about 3 minutes per sideuntil brown. Transfer to a plate and set aside. Let chops rest for few minutes.
- Heat the skillet to medium-high heat again and melt remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Put in the apples and onion. Cook and stir occasionally until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Season with the brown sugar, cinnamon and cayenne. Then pour in the apple cider and cream.
- Once the liquid mixture is stirred well, nestling the pork chops into it and cook until the internal temperature of the pork reaches between 145 degrees ℉ (medium rare), with a 3minute rest, and 160 degrees℉(medium), 3 minutes per side.
- Serve the chops with the apple mixture spooned on top.
